Each pair also offers a premium midsole made of cork and EVA foam, sitting above a toothed gum outsole.
More details arrive via Lapstone & Hammer branding on tongues and insoles. “Black Suede” keeps things stark with black and gray hues, calling upon light brown tones for contrast and adding regal pops of purple for an opulent touch.
“Bone White” uses soft natural tones rimmed with dark brown trim and red/blue accents. This artisanal construction is accented further by calfskin leather sockliners and a sherpa fleece-lined tongue. The toe is also whip-stitched by hand in traditional moccasin style. The Courageous Moc arrives in “Bone White” and “Black Suede.” Each colorway is made of buttery silkee and mammoth suedes, mixed with supple goat and Horween leathers for an ultra-luxe feel. Taking this interconnected ethos even further, Saucony’s name is in fact derived from the Native American Lenape word “saconk”, which translates to “where two rivers run together.” Drawing from shared Pennsylvania roots, Lapstone & Hammer and Saucony have teamed up for a fresh take on the Courageous dubbed the Courageous Moc “Two Rivers.” Lapstone & Hammer is based in Philadelphia, and Saucony was founded 75 miles up the Saucony River, so the co-created footwear silhouette is made to resemble two rivers coming together to create an even more powerful force.
